Essentials of Modern Manufacturing
Who is this for?
This is an introductory level course for those interested in starting or continuing a career in manufacturing. A college degree is not required to take this course.
Course Overview
This entry-level 4-week course introduces the fundamental concepts and definitions related to modern manufacturing. Participants will explore key topics such as the evolution of manufacturing, common processes used in factories, the importance of safety, and available career paths in the manufacturing industry. Through a combination of videos, readings, interactive activities, and discussions, you'll gain insights into the current landscape of manufacturing and how it impacts the economy, workplaces, and future career opportunities.
What to Expect
In this course, you’ll engage with a range of learning materials, including videos, readings, and discussions. Each week will cover essential manufacturing concepts such as industry history, factory processes, safety protocols, and career options. Weekly activities will include quizzes, practical exercises, and reflection discussions. By the end of the course, you’ll have a foundational understanding of modern manufacturing and insights into potential career paths.
Time Commitment
Learners should anticipate dedicating roughly 15 hours over a 4-week period for this course. Each week, participants will engage in readings, watch instructional videos, complete assignments, and interact live with our faculty experts, averaging about 3-5 hours per week. Additionally, we offer the flexibility to watch recorded sessions with our experts, ensuring optimal convenience for all learners.
