Inclusive Teaming for Technical Teams
Who is this for?
This is an introductory level course for those who are or want to be technical professionals and hope to expand their understanding of inclusive teaming. A college degree is not required to take this course. This iteration of the course is tailored to those in the manufacturing setting.
Course Overview
This entry-level 4-week course provides an accessible and engaging introduction to inclusive teaming for technical teams. In this course, you’ll explore teamwork skills, role clarity, followership types, and psychological safety. The course examines factors influencing team dynamics, such as personality traits, work styles, attitudes, and organizational culture, including MBTI types. You’ll learn about team development stages and how to foster inclusion and belonging. Additionally, the course addresses conflict types, their impact on team dynamics, and strategies for managing conflicts constructively. You’ll develop self-awareness and emotional intelligence to handle conflicts and foster an inclusive team environment by addressing biases and stereotypes.
This course is approved for 1.5 CEUs or 15 PEs.
What to Expect
In this course, you will build knowledge and self-awareness, reflecting on your learnings to apply them to your individual situation. Each week, you will engage with course readings and videos that explain inclusive teaming concepts. You will also hear from industry professionals about how these concepts manifest in their organizations. Discussion posts will offer opportunities to reflect on various elements of inclusive teaming and begin applying these concepts to your own context. At the end of each module, you will receive a summary highlighting the importance of these concepts for your understanding and career. The final assignment is a case study where you will practice identifying inclusive teaming practices (or lack of).
To earn the course’s digital badge, learners must complete all assignments and demonstrate competency in the learning outcomes by achieving a score of 80% or higher on assessments.
While live synchronous sessions are highly recommended for real-time interaction and learning, recordings will be made available for those who are unable to attend due to other responsibilities.
Time Commitment
Learners should anticipate dedicating roughly 15 hours over a 4-week period for this course. Each week, participants will engage in readings, watch instructional videos, complete assignments, and interact live with our faculty experts, averaging about 3-5 hours per week. Additionally, we offer the flexibility to watch recorded sessions with our experts, ensuring optimal convenience for all learners.
