Full course description
Essentials of Additive Manufacturing
Who is this for?
This is an introductory level course for those with an interest in additive manufacturing (AM) hoping to start/grow their career in the AM workforce. A college degree is not required to take this course.
Course Overview
This entry-level 4-week course provides an accessible and engaging introduction to the world of additive manufacturing (AM). Through a series of structured online modules, learners will explore AM trends and innovations as well as foundational AM principles, processes, and materials. The course also highlights current job types, empowering learners with the knowledge to advance their careers in the AM workforce.
What to Expect
Each week will focus on a different aspect of additive manufacturing. Weekly modules include interactive exercises, videos that showcase additive processes in action, and assignments to help learners apply their knowledge. Live sessions will offer opportunities for deeper engagement and discussion.
To earn the course’s digital badge, learners must complete all assignments and demonstrate competency in the learning outcomes by achieving a score of 80% or higher on assessments.
While live synchronous sessions are highly recommended for real-time interaction and learning, recordings will be made available for those who are unable to attend due to other responsibilities.
